Program Overview

1. Introduction to Governance, Risk, and Compliance, foundational concepts, importance, and alignment with business.

2. Fundamentals of popular standards and frameworks, such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, PCI-DSS, SOC2, HITRUST, etc.

3. Understanding the legal and regulatory requirements, such as DPDP, GDPR, SOX, NIS2, HIPAA, IT Act, etc.

4. Define GRC objectives and align them with business objectives. How to define the objectives and how to map them to the requirements.

5. Transforming requirements into enterprise practices through the development of policies and processes in alignment with legal, regulatory, contractual, and business requirements. Understanding the advantages and challenges in integrating requirements at various stages and scopes. 

6. Define the risk management framework and conduct a risk assessment for the given case study (participants can bring their organizational use cases as per their requirements). Develop a risk register from scratch and define a risk treatment plan.

7. Operationalize the GRC to integrate it into organizational practices. Develop a comprehensive GRC plan and define review activities, exercises, testing, and other operational activities. Understanding the budgetary concepts. And develop a GRC Strategy.

8. Define performance metrics and measure the effectiveness of GRC implementation. Develop a performance dashboard for management review.

9. Understanding first-party, second-party, and third-party audits. Plan and conduct internal audits. Develop audit material, including audit plan, checklists, and reports. Know the practical challenges, the right questions to ask during the audit, and the right defenses while facing the audit.

10. Understand certification aspects, continual improvement, and maturity models to improve the effectiveness of GRC implementation over time.
